Book Checkouts: Books are loaned for 3 weeks and can be renewed for 3 weeks. Junior and senior essay materials are loaned for 6 weeks. Reference books can be checked out overnight with permission of a librarian.
Interlibrary Loan Services: Pinkerton students can arrange to check out books from the sending town public libraries by speaking to a librarian. This “Walk-In Interlibrary Loan” service allows students to borrow materials more quickly from sending town libraries. Students may also use the New Hampshire Interlibrary Loan service to borrow materials from libraries statewide. The books usually take two weeks to arrive. Students should speak to a librarian to arrange for these services.
Book Requests: Faculty and students are welcome to make requests for book purchases that would be beneficial to the collection and the curriculum.
DVDs and Videos can be checked out for a week. DVDs and videos for classroom use are housed in the Media Center.
eReaders: NOOKs and Kindles are available for a 2 week loan. Students and their parents must sign the conditions for use form.
Photocopying Services are available in the main library. Black and white copies cost at $ .10 a page The color copier is networked from student computers with a fee of $.25 per page.

Nearly every day the doors are open by 6:00am at the main library.
Student Activities include the celebration of Teen Read Week, National Library Week, NaNoWriMo, weekly lunch group clubs, and monthly Puzzle Days.
During the summer, the main library is open by appointment only. Students should call ahead to return or check out a book: 437-5200 x1146. Teachers may arrange for class use or for tutoring sessions in the library by reserving space via phone x1146 or e-mail firstname.lastname@example.org or email@example.com.

Library Overdue Policy: Students are expected to return books promptly, as no fines are charged for overdue materials. For materials that are overdue:
5 Calendar Days: Students will receive an e-mail. Parents will receive letters quoting replacement costs;
2 Weeks: Students will not be allowed admittance to the library. They may not check out additional library materials. Students will receive an administrative detention;
4 Weeks: Students will receive a Saturday detention. After 4 Weeks: Additional disciplinary action will be taken at the discretion of the students’ administrator.
Students will not be admitted to the library until they have returned or paid for the overdue materials they have checked out.
Students whose library books are chronically overdue several times a semester will be allowed to check out only one book with the librarian’s permission. If two library check outs are returned on time, the student’s privileges will be restored.
